In 2002, my mother, Lynn, died of metastatic breast cancer at the age of 62. My wife, Trudy, and my stepmother, Judy, are both breast cancer survivors. In 2016, my Ballard Spahr colleagues and I helped inaugurate the Promise Ride in support of breast cancer research, screening, diagnosis, and outreach, and an expanded Team Ballard Spahr has raised nearly $200,000 over the past four years.
For any number of reasons, this is no ordinary year, but we are maintaining our commitment to participate in and lead the 2020 “Virtual” Promise Ride. It’s not exactly virtual, because we’ll still be riding real bicycles on real roads; we just won’t be doing a big ride event together. The ride “concludes” this weekend, by which time lawyers and staff from multiple Ballard offices, along with clients and other friends of the firm, will have completed their rides.
I know there are many overlapping challenges and priorities right now, but I hope you can help provide some support for those fighting breast cancer in Maryland and beyond. Any help you can provide would be most welcome and much appreciated.
Thanks, and stay safe and well.
