Hi everyone! My Aunt, Elizabeth Inglisa Sagin, passed away this year from metastatic breast cancer. She unfortunately left behind a husband, a 13 year old daughter, a 10 year old daughter, 4 brothers, 2 sisters, many nieces and nephews, sister/brother in laws as well as cousins and friends. My aunt was kind, beautiful, caring, funny, lovable, and full of life. A day does not go by where I miss her infectious laugh that would lit up the whole room. If there’s anything I’ve learned in her final days in this world, it’s that she was definitely the strongest person I had ever met. Her strength matched a comic book super hero. You could have never tell how much pain she was in because she always put someone else’s needs before herself. From now, until my time is over on this Earth, I will strive in every way I can to be like my aunt. Not only was she my family, but she was my blood, so she will always be a part of me physically and spiritually.
I have gone back and forth of whether to partake in this fundraiser or not. Though I know if my aunt was still here, she would not hesitate to call me out for being a “stupid head” and join this fundraiser to continue the fight. Therefore I am restarting my team from last year, Team Elizabeth, for the More Than Pink Walk fundraiser. Even in my aunt’s final days, she still believed there would eventually be a cure to fight this horrible disease, and so do I.
Even if it’s just a penny, or sharing this post, it all can make a difference in helping support this amazing cause. Working together, we will conquer this disease. 1 in 8 women are diagnosed with breast cancer every year. My family will forever be left with a ginormous hope in our heart, but this hole could shrink little by little with your help in supporting this cause to end breast cancer.
Will you help me continue my aunt’s battle? Will you help support me in my cause to end this war against breast cancer?
