My Story
This year, I registered for the Komen MORE THAN PINK Walk because I wanted to take action and be More Than Pink. I want to make an impact in the fight against breast cancer and need your help. I have finally started feeling pretty good; so good that I know I can do this. But feeling better has made me realize just how bad I felt while recovering from my surgeries and the side effects of chemotherapy. You can't admit how bad you feel at the time because admitting that feels like admitting defeat. But I was not defeated and I have come out stronger. I walk to celebrate my successful treatment. I walk for my daughter, in hopes of finding a cure in her lifetime. I walk for family, friends, and even strangers. I was fortunate to have a strong support system to help me through my breast cancer diagnosis and treatment. I was able to afford the care of amazing doctors and specialists. Not all women diagnosed with breast cancer are as lucky as I am. I walk to help them on their journey.
