My Story
As you know, I have been one of the lucky ones. My cancer was found early. It is hard to believe that it has been 9 years since my diagnosis. It is an emotional journey for anyone who has received the news that they have cancer. Last year in Maryland alone over 5, 000 women were diagnosed with breast cancer and we are a small state.
I have been inspired by the remarkable women I have met on this journey. I have tried to pay this gift forward by supporting women who have come after me. We are part of a sorority that none of us wanted to join but there is a bond that we share that can’t be explained. The treatment for this disease has come a long way and I believe we are getting closer each day to finding a way to reduce the number of cases of breast cancer.
